Frequently Asked Questions

Every Rock Dog I create is handmade and unique!  Each piece begins as a hollow orb.  Then I add the feet and facial features that express the whimsical joy I see in the form.   Once the form is air dried, I fire it in a kiln for the first time which results in a bisque fired piece.  I then add several layers of glaze, usually multiple glazes on a single piece, and it fires again for another day.  After the glaze firing is complete, I check the new Rock Dog for quality and it’s feet for smoothness.  The entire process takes several weeks to complete a small batch (or litter).  My restocks are typically 30-45 pieces. How do I sign up for restock emails?
On the home page you will see the mailing list sign up contact form.  Simply enter your email and click the “Join the Fun!” button to be added to the list. You will also need to confirm your email once you sign up.

How do I order?
I release new Rock Dogs for sale about once a month at the Etsy store. You can purchase available Rock Dogs during the website restock. More on how restocks work below.

Do you take custom/special/pre- orders?
Yes. Special orders will be priced on a case by case basis. You can use the contact form at the bottom of this page. 

Do you sell wholesale?
Not at this time. Stay in touch to learn if/when this changes.

How much do these Rock Dogs cost?
Prices vary by size, style, design, glaze, intricacy, etc. It really depends on the item. Rock Dogs typically range from $45-$65 including domestic shipping costs.

When will my order ship?
Most orders are processed & shipped out within 3 to 5 business days.

I send a tracking number with every order. Please monitor your tracking. I can not be held responsible for lost or stolen packages.

For custom/special orders I will contact you personally to provide detailed shipment information.

How much is domestic shipping?
I am located in the US and offer free shipping for domestic shipments.

How much is international shipping?
Shipping is calculated on etsy.com during checkout. Shipping is affected by location, weight, box size & shipping service. Shipping ceramics can be expensive, especially outside of the US. Most international orders are shipped USPS or DHL. DHL may require a signature for delivery. I do NOT offer free or discounted shipping for international orders.  I do combine shipping multiple orders IF I can safely do so.

You may be responsible for taxes, customs, import fees, etc. when your package arrives in your country.

Why does it seem like you are always sold out?
It seems that way because I am! Ceramics is a slow process. It takes me weeks to create enough items for a decent size restock. When I have a restock, items tend to sell out extremely fast.

How do restocks work?
About once a month I have enough goods ready to offer them for sale. When I am ready, I will announce the date and time of the next restock. Restock information can always be found on the top of my homepage, in my bio on Instagram and in restock emails.

Restocks tend to sell out very quickly! It’s helpful to checkout my Instagram stories about 24 hours before the scheduled restock time so you can see what will be available before hand.

The check out process on Etsy is designed to be easy. ProTip: A Rock Dog you want could also be in someone else’s cart, and if they check out first they will get the item. Come back for other items! I will combine and refund extra shipping if it is possible to do so.

Can I see what will be available before you restock?

Absolutely! I send out a restock email to the newsletter subscribers approximately three days before I make the new Rock Dogs available for sale on Etsy.com. I also show previews of the new Rock Dogs on instagram stories about 24 hours prior to restocking. You can follow along @iloverockdogs

Can I reserve/hold items?

No.

Returns/Exchanges/Cancellations
I will always describe an item as accurately as possible and use photos which best show the details. If however you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please contact me as soon as possible and within 14 days of receiving the order and I will arrange a refund. This will be for the cost of the item only. Buyers are responsible for the return postage costs. Please keep proof of posting. The item must be well packed in the original packaging to avoid damage. Once received, I will issue a refund.

I don’t accept exchanges or cancellations. But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.

What happens if the order arrives damaged?

I take care to package items up securely for posting. However, there’s always the risk of damage with ceramic items. If an item arrives damaged, please contact me and include a photo. I will send a replacement if one is available or issue a full refund of item and postage costs.
